Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; On purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally

The REASON I want to SUPPORT YOU.

I get it, I have been there.

I needed support with my wellbeing, to find ways to relax, to sleep better, to improve my mindset.

I grew up in a generation where it was all about not putting your health first, with a ladette culture, eating unhealthy convenience food, no social media to connect with a likeminded community, and people not even speaking about mental health or wellness.  Never even knowing what a panic attack was, let alone how to deal with it.  Always spending my time being too busy, working hard and never putting myself first.

My mental health took a turn for the worse at 19 years old, to the point where I was more or less housebound due to the panic and fear taking over.  Little did I know I was suffering with a severe anxiety disorder and low self-esteem.  I’ll never forget the first panic attack I had, this wave took over my whole body and mind, I couldn’t breathe and felt like I was going to die.  This went on for a long time, I had no control over when they would happen to me, why they were happening to me, and no idea how to deal with them.  I was going through a traumatic time in my personal life and it escalated into me suffering badly with my mental health.

I eventually decided to reach out to my doctor, as I didn’t know who else to turn to.  The doctor helped me understand it was ok and they provided me with access to therapy.  Getting the support from therapy helped me to understand what was happening to me psychologically and learn how to take small steps towards getting my life back.

It hasn’t been an easy road and I had lots of setbacks along the way, but I have always found ways to manage it, through allowing myself recovery time and always seeking help.

After years of trying to live as normal a life as possible (if normal is even a thing!) the anxiety was always there in the background eating away at me.  I never really got to a place where I felt a sense of understanding or calm.  That was until 2016 when I focused on me for the first time ever, I started spending my time on my passions, learning about wellness and the connection between our physical and mental health.  How changing my habits could support my wellbeing.  Joining the dots on how nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, and your environment all play a part.  I found enjoyment in learning the practices of yoga and meditation for myself, going on to study a Diploma in Meditation.

Finally, I got to a point where the anxiety didn’t take over anymore.  Through simple tools and exercises I was able to focus my thoughts to achieve a positive way of life, a great mindset, ways to relax and an inner calm.

I found these practices to be a very personal thing and the importance of finding what works for you.  As what works for one person may not work for someone else!

MY AIM is to SUPPORT YOU to find a practice that WORKS FOR YOU.

To help you FIND YOUR MOMENT of CALM and POSITIVITY.

It is possible and I’m passionate about helping you achieve this.

Quiet the mind, and the soul will speak
